School and Daycare
That’s a really good question. We always try our best to help you stay at the school you already go to, because we know how important that can be. But if you do need to switch schools, we’ll be right there to help you feel okay about the change.
We’ll do everything we can to help you stay where you’re already going. We know how much it can mean to see familiar faces and places.
We’ll always make sure you get there safely. If your school is nearby, there’s usually a bus stop close to the home. And if your school is farther away, we’ll figure out a ride for you, like using the group home van.
You’ll get to pack your own lunch and snacks from the food we have at the home—there are lots of choices! And if you want help packing, we’re happy to help. We also make sure everything is safe for kids with allergies or special diets.
Yes, you sure can. If you’d rather bring your own lunch, we’ll help you pack something yummy and safe. And if you ever want to try the school lunch, that’s okay too!
Each home has its own schedule, and we’ll go over yours together so you know exactly what to expect. We’ll make sure it works for you.
Yes, there’s a computer, laptop, or tablet in the home that you can use for schoolwork. We’ll help you get set up if you need it.
Yes, absolutely. If you need any of those things, we’ll make sure you have them before school starts.
That’s something we’ll talk about together. It can be different for everyone, and could have parents, group home staff, child in care worker, or anyone else we decide on together to best support you.
We will, anytime! If you need help, just ask. We’re here to support you with school stuff, too.
We’ll make sure you have everything you need—whether we get it for you or the school provides it. You won’t have to worry about that.
Yes, of course! We want you to go to activities like these with your peers so we will help you get ready and make sure you have what you need to go and enjoy yourself.
